The Department of Pharmacy has become an integral part of the multidisciplinary team at Salinas Valley Health that is dedicated to delivering high-quality patient care through innovative medication management. The clinical pharmacists provide comprehensive care to our pediatric and adult patients in their unit by performing drug regimen review, optimizing medication regimens, monitoring medication therapy, providing patient education and drug information, and collaborating with other healthcare providers. The pharmacy department is experiencing exciting growth as it expands its services throughout patient care. One recent expansion include our additional 4 ER pharmacists. Various pharmacy services include the retail pharmacy and the meds-to-beds program, outpatient infusion center, and transitions of care pharmacy program. Opportunities to expand our pharmacy services include our upcoming specialty pharmacy and Medication Therapy Management (MTM) programs. With the support of our executive leadership, our expanding pharmacy services provide ample opportunities for professional growth and development in various specialized areas.

Education, Certification, Licensure:

1. Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy or Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm.D.) from an ACPE accredited school of pharmacy.

2. Current California Pharmacist license or be license eligible. Licensure must be obtained within 90 days of hire. 

3. Obtain certification in Basic Life Support within 60 days of hire date.
