Description:
The pharmacy Clinical Specialist II recognizes specialized training and experience in a service line or patient population. In addition to providing medication order assessment, clinical and consultative services, Clinical Specialist II are expected to take responsibility for establishing and expanding clinical services in area of practice. Development of medication protocols, order sets, perform medication utilization reviews and performance improvement projects to optimize drug therapy is required. Additionally, actively develop and present educational topics, staff development programs and act as preceptor to students and residents in specialty area. Provides mentorship and is a clinical resource for staff and other health care providers in area of expertise. Represents pharmacy in committees and collaborative meetings. Mentors staff and actively participates in research, formal presentations and publications. Estimated salary range for this position is $120665.27 - $156864.85 / year depending on experience.

PGY1 residency with 5 years practice experience in area of specialty and BPS required.
PGY2 residency with 3 years practice experience in area of specialty and BPS required.
(PGY1=3 years of experience and PGY2=2 additional years).
