Essential Functions:
Assists the manager with oversight of pharmacy operations and personnel.
Supports the orientation, training, and development of community pharmacy staff.
Ensures compliance with Baptist Health policies, 340B program (if applicable), accrediting bodies, REMS compliance, third-party payers (including audits), and state and federal regulations.
Ensures timely completion of all claim and invoice reconciliation as needed by the Community Pharmacy Manager.
Ensures adequate control and documentation of controlled substance ordering, receiving, inventory management, and dispensing in compliance with state and federal regulations.
Maintains compliance with immunization protocols and ensures all staff have current training, including BLS CPR certification.
Ensures the integrity of medications by assuring storage under proper conditions (e.g., refrigeration) and security.
Monitors drug shortages and implements solutions to avoid therapy delays.
Supports the development and implementation of strategies to eliminate or minimize medication errors.
Reports Good Catches, Adverse Drug Events, and Medication/Fluid errors.
Coordinates safe transitions of care from the hospital with patients, caregivers, other institutions, providers, and pharmacies.
Ensures prompt and friendly service, prioritizing the patient's well-being in all functions and duties.
Performs responsibilities of Community Pharmacy Manager during their absence.
Minimum Requirements:
Kentucky Board of Pharmacy license in good standing.
Bachelor's Degree in Pharmacy or Doctorate of Pharmacy required.
Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
Community Pharmacy experience preferred.
Must obtain Immunization certification within 6 months.
