As part of our growth and commitment to excellence, we are seeking a Clinical Pharmacy Specialist to join our dedicated cardiology team. Position Summary
This full-time, dayshift position supports adult academic rounding services within the Inpatient Cardiology Division, including:
General Cardiology
Advanced Heart Failure
Cardiovascular Surgery
Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit (CVICU)
You will serve as a key interdisciplinary team member, providing comprehensive pharmaceutical care that directly enhances patient outcomes.
Clinical Responsibilities
Participate in daily multidisciplinary rounds
Verify medication orders and ensure safe, evidence-based pharmacotherapy
Respond to drug information inquiries from healthcare professionals
Manage complex medication regimens, including pharmacokinetic and therapeutic drug monitoring
Provide patient education and counseling on medication use
Collaborate with pharmacy technicians to coordinate operational workflows
Respond to in-hospital Code Blue events as a core team member
Non-Clinical Responsibilities
Serve as a preceptor for PGY1 and PGY2 pharmacy residents and students
Contribute to quality improvement and clinical research projects
Actively engage in committee work and institutional initiatives to advance pharmacy practice

Qualifications:
PharmD degree from an accredited school of pharmacy
Completion of a PGY1 residency (PGY2 in Cardiology or Critical Care preferred)
Licensure or eligibility for licensure in the state of West Virginia
BLS/ACLS certification (or willingness to obtain)
Prior experience in cardiology or critical care strongly preferred
