Job Summary
The Ben and Maytee Fisch College of Pharmacy at The University of Texas at Tyler invites applications for pharmacy practice faculty in the Clinical Sciences Department. Appointments are full-time, open rank, clinical, and non-tenure track. We are seeking qualified candidates for both ambulatory care and inpatient practice settings, including but not limited to adult medicine and Infectious diseases. This position offers an exciting opportunity to join a progressive, collaborative, student-centered academic Pharm.D. program. Courses are taught using an active learning environment that values professional growth and the development of each student. The curriculum emphasizes critical thinking, communication, and teamwork. The start date for the position is flexible. Salaries are competitive and commensurate with qualifications and experience. The review of candidates will begin immediately and continue until the positions are filled.
Key Responsibilities
Develop and teach coursework, incorporating active learning and optimizing educational outcomes.
Precept students to support learning experiences in the experiential curriculum.
Serve as an advisor to pharmacy students.
Participate in college, university, and professional service.
Engage in research and scholarship.
Participate in community events, such as community service and community engagement.
Establish and develop a viable practice site.
Coordinate coursework as assigned. Engage in continuous professional development.
Required Qualifications
Pharm.D. or equivalent terminal degree.
Completion of a PGY-1 pharmacy residency or equivalent experience.
Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
Current Texas Registered Pharmacist Licensure (or eligibility for Texas licensure).
Preferred Qualifications
Previous experience in academia.
Experience practicing in area of training/expertise.
Completion of a Teaching Certificate Program.
Completion of a PGY-2 residency in area of specialty.
Professional board certification.

The retirement plan for this position is Teacher Retirement System of Texas (TRS), subject to the position being at least 20 hours per week and at least 135 days in length. This position has the option to elect the Optional Retirement Program (ORP) instead of TRS, subject to the position being 40 hours per week and at least 135 days in length.
