The Walgreens Executive Fellowship in Pharmacy Practice Leadership is a 2-year postgraduate structured training program that provides an intensive focus on enhancing knowledge, skills, and abilities in patient care, practice management, and executive leadership for the purpose of protecting and advancing community pharmacy practice. Career development is supported through networking, fellowship projects, leadership training, and exposure to diverse career paths. The fellowship is located at the Walgreen Support Center in Deerfield, Illinois.
The fellow will:
Collaborate with executive leaders in pharmacy practice advancement.
Develop high-level strategic, financial, and policy decision-making skills.
Obtain executive communication, business planning, and advocacy skills.
Apply leadership principles to design, evaluate, and present a practice advancement initiative.
Contribute to the strategic development community pharmacy practice initiatives.
Lead the design, execution, analysis, and dissemination of findings for a longitudinal project.
Use of clinical and therapeutic knowledge in professional organization and government policy decision-making practical policy development and evaluation.
Attend and present at professional meetings, engage in workshops, and participate in mentorship opportunities.
Provide direct patient care in the community pharmacy setting.

Interested candidates must meet the following requirements:
Doctor of Pharmacy degree from a college or school of pharmacy accredited by the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education
Community pharmacy practice experience
Ability to obtain a pharmacist license, within the state of Illinois within 90 days of the start of the fellowship program
Be or become a certified immunizer within 90 days of hire
