This is an ASHP accredited PGY2 specialized residency in psychiatric pharmacy at UW Medicine. This program provides 52 weeks of training, aimed at developing and refining the skills necessary to design, implement, and monitor effective therapeutic interventions for a broad range of patients diagnosed with neurologic and behavioral health disorders. Residents have opportunities to provide direct patient care to a diverse patient population in multiple settings across the health system, with guidance and mentorship from experienced preceptors. Upon completion of the program, residents are equipped to obtain a position as a psychiatric clinical pharmacy specialist or faculty member and are prepared for board certification in psychiatric pharmacy.
The primary practice sites for this program are Harborview Medical Center and the Center for Behavioral Health and Learning at the UWMC-Northwest campus. Throughout their training, residents will be provided numerous teaching opportunities in various interdisciplinary settings which includes providing a lecture to pharmacy students at the UW School of Pharmacy and a continuing education seminar to pharmacy colleagues.
