The WVU Medicine Pharmacy Department has two openings for Clinical Pharmacists as described below:
Critical Care, Emergency Medicine, and Cardiology Pharmacist Float – The Multispecialty Clinical Pharmacist provides decentralized pharmacy coverage across adult ICU, Emergency Department, and cardiology units. Responsibilities include participating in multidisciplinary rounds, optimizing medication therapy, ensuring safe and effective medication use, and supporting clinical decision-making in high-acuity settings. The pharmacist will assist with evening coverage as needed and participate in weekend and holiday staffing. Additional duties include precepting learners, serving on committees, responding to Code Blue emergencies, and contributing to research or quality-improvement efforts. Candidates must be licensed or eligible for licensure, with residency training or relevant clinical experience preferred.
Critical Care Pharmacist, Evenings – The Evening ICU Clinical Pharmacist provides decentralized pharmacy coverage for adult intensive care units (MICU, SICU, CVICU, and NCCU) from 2:00–10:30 pm, Monday through Friday. This position is responsible for optimizing medication therapy, ensuring safe and effective drug use, and supporting critically ill patients through direct clinical services. The pharmacist will participate in Code Blue response, collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, and provide leadership in medication safety and education. Candidates must be licensed or eligible for licensure in West Virginia, with residency training or prior critical care experience preferred.
