At East Alabama Health, our infusion pharmacy teams play a vital role in delivering safe, high-quality care to patients undergoing complex treatments. We are seeking a Manager of Infusion Pharmacy Services who brings clinical expertise, leadership experience, and a deep understanding of regulatory standards to oversee operations across our infusion center pharmacies.
Position Overview
This leadership role is responsible for managing daily operations at two infusion pharmacy locations, ensuring compliance with USP <797> and <800>, Alabama Board of Pharmacy regulations, and Joint Commission standards. The manager will lead a team of pharmacists and technicians, foster collaboration across departments, and drive continuous improvement in patient care and operational efficiency.
Work Location & Schedule
Oversees infusion pharmacies at Spencer Cancer Center and East Alabama Medical Center Non-Oncology Infusion Center
Monday - Friday, Closed major holidays
Key Responsibilities
Lead daily operations, staffing, workflow, and inventory management across infusion pharmacy sites
Ensure compliance with sterile compounding and hazardous drug handling regulations (USP <797>, <800>, REMS, CMS, ALBOP, TJC)
Ensures adherence to policies for drug preparation, storage, disposal, and PPE use
Conduct team huddles, performance evaluations, and competency assessments
Manage pharmacy budgets, monitor expenditures, and identify cost-saving initiatives
Collaborate with nursing, medical staff, and system pharmacy leadership to optimize patient outcomes
Partner with the Pharmacy Buyer and 340B Manager on purchasing, recalls, and drug shortages
May provide direct pharmacist or technician support as needed

Qualifications
PharmD or Bachelor’s in Pharmacy (Doctoral degree and PGY-1/PGY-2 residency preferred)
Minimum 3 years clinical pharmacy experience (5+ years preferred)
Active Alabama Pharmacist License required
Board certification (BCPS, BCOP, or other specialty) strongly preferred
Proven leadership in oncology and IV room operations
In-depth knowledge of USP <797>/<800>, ALBOP, federal, and Joint Commission regulations
