Prisma Health offers an accredited 24-month Health System Pharmacy Administration and Leadership Residency (PGY1/PGY2) at our two Academic Medical Centers in South Carolina: Prisma Health Richland Hospital in Columbia and Prisma Health Greenville Memorial Hospital in Greenville.
These PGY1/PGY2 residencies are specifically designed to develop highly effective leaders of pharmacy practice. Training focuses on producing well-rounded clinicians capable of leading the delivery of pharmacy services within a diverse, complex integrated health system.
We emphasize core leadership and management domains:
Leading safe and effective medication-use systems.
Driving quality improvement.
Managing human and financial resources.
Developing business acumen.
Utilizing technology and informatics.
Advancing leadership skills.
We are committed to customizing the training experience. Our ability to be creative and flexible with resident rotations allows us to align the curriculum with individual professional goals.
The program lays the foundation for continuous professional development. Upon graduation, residents are prepared for clinical, operational, or executive leadership positions in various healthcare settings. Our graduates have successfully advanced into diverse and impactful roles, including operations leadership, 340B program management, and project management leadership.
While offering programs in two locations, we ensure similarly robust experiences and foster a strong sense of camaraderie and fellowship through strategically aligned activities, such as our case conference/lunch and learn series and our Prisma Health Residency Leadership Academy.
