The Combined PGY1/PGY2 Health-System Pharmacy Administration and Leadership (HSPAL) with Masters residency program at Children’s Health aims to provide training and competency for pharmacy leaders in delivering patient-centered care through the medication-use system. This program prepares residents to take on high-level managerial, supervisory, and leadership responsibilities. Areas of focus during the program include safe and effective medication-use systems, quality assurance and improvement, human resources management, financial resources management, use of technology, and advanced leadership. The residency program establishes the groundwork for continuous growth in management and leadership skills and equips residents for clinical, operational, and supervisory roles in various work settings.
In addition, residents supplement their clinical and administrative learning with didactic training in the 24-month Master of Science (MS) in Pharmacy Leadership program offered through the University of Cincinnati Winkle College of Pharmacy
20-hour ACPE accredited IV training course required within 90 days of start date
Texas licensure and registration as a pharmacist within 90 days of the start date
Basic Life support for healthcare providers within 90 days
At least 1 year experience in entry-level pharmacy work, including but not limited to pharmacy technician, pharmacist intern, or pharmacist at a health system or ambulatory setting (preferred).
