The post graduate year 2 (PGY2) pharmacy residency programs build on Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm.D.) education and post graduate year 1 (PGY1) pharmacy residency training to the development of pharmacist practitioners with knowledge, skills, and abilities as defined in the educational competency areas, goals, and objectives for advanced practice areas. Residents who successfully complete PGY2 pharmacy residency programs are prepared for advanced patient care or other specialized positions and board certification in the advanced practice area.

The PGY2 Pediatric Pharmacy Residency and the PGY2 Ambulatory Care Pharmacy Residency have early-committed for the 2026-2027 residency class and will no longer be participating in PPS.
Adult Solid Organ Transplant Clinical Pharmacy Specialist (role in development):
Due to the growth of our transplant programs, we are recruiting for an adult solid organ transplant clinical pharmacy specialist with an opportunity to cover inpatient and outpatient adult heart and lung transplant services. We are also starting a kidney transplant program in the coming year. This position would join a team of 4 transplant pharmacists (one pediatric and three adult pharmacists). This position is pending approval and therefore not posted at this time.
Corewell Health (formerly Spectrum Health) is the only health system in West Michigan to perform heart and lung transplants, and our one-year lung transplant patient survival is one of the best in the nation.

The pharmacy team at Corewell Health Grand Rapids Hospitals has been providing ASHP-accredited PGY1 Pharmacy Residency training since 1998. The ASHP-accredited pharmacy residency programs at Corewell Health William Beaumont University Hospital (formerly known as Beaumont Hospital, Royal Oak Hospital) have been training pharmacy residents since 1977.
