This PGY2 Pharmacy Informatics Residency is offered through the Vanderbilt HealthIT Pharmacy Portfolio in close collaboration with the leadership and staff of Vanderbilt Pharmaceutical Services. The program is designed to prepare residents for successful careers in pharmacy informatics by providing a robust foundation of tools, experiences, and mentorship. Residents will engage in a diverse range of rotations and informatics-driven projects, customized to align with their professional interests and the evolving needs of Vanderbilt University Medical Center. In addition to core informatics training, residents will fulfill responsibilities consistent with ASHP accreditation standards, including topic discussions, a longitudinal research project, an automation initiative, pharmacy staffing, and optional participation in a teaching certificate program and professional conferences. Residency Goals:
Develop a deep understanding of how informatics programs enhance patient safety and clinical outcomes
Evaluate the integration of health technologies into clinical workflows and decision-making
Assess the impact of informatics systems on clinician efficiency and user experience
Contribute to the design and execution of informatics business initiatives
Communicate effectively and professionally in both written and verbal formats
Participate in the planning, design, and implementation of informatics projects
Achieve Epic Willow Inpatient Proficient status
Cultivate leadership skills in the development and maintenance of informatics systems
Understand the relationship between end-users and vendor software products
Gain insight into the research, development, and implementation lifecycle of vendor solutions within the electronic health record (EHR)
Demonstrate advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office applications for informatics documentation and analysis

Basic Requirements:
This position requires a PharmD degree and a successfully completed ACPE accredited PGY1 residency.
Licensure:
TN Pharmacist Licensure Required (for out of state matched candidates, licensure window is defined in our Residency Manual).
Additional Information:
This is a full-time position Monday-Friday with some rotational on-call and weekend staffing. The experience has remote aspects, however pharmacy staffingrequires a local residence. Background screening checks will be performed, and educational information will be verified prior to employment. Please be prepared to provide the required information and/or documentation.
