The University of Iowa Health Care PGY1/PGY2 Health-System Pharmacy Administration and Leadership Residency is designed to provide concentrated training in clinical practice and administration of health-system pharmacy. The resident will obtain advanced knowledge in clinical practice and expertise in pharmacy administration, operations, personnel management, and leadership activities. The PGY1 year provides focused clinical pharmacy training in both the inpatient and outpatient settings, providing experience in all aspects of patient-centered care. The PGY2 year provides advanced training in health-system pharmacy administration, building off the clinical and leadership skills developed during the first year. A variety of teaching opportunities exist including preceptorship of pharmacy students, adjunct faculty position at the University of Iowa College of Pharmacy, and participation in a teaching certificate program. Completion of a formal research project and a medication use evaluation is required.
Residents will have a variety of Master's degree offerings to choose from for completion in addition to the residency training.

Requirements:
Graduation from an ACPE Accredited School of Pharmacy.
Current or eligible for Iowa Pharmacist licensure.
