Acute care clinical pharmacists at UI Health Care are responsible for delivering comprehensive pharmaceutical care. The clinical pharmacist is integral to all facets of patient care encompassing therapeutic drug monitoring, transitions of care, patient education, and the precepting of pharmacy learners. These positions ensure the highest standard of safe and effective patient care through comprehensive clinical review, verification of medication orders, and synthesizing information into clinical recommendations. Collaboration and effective communication are key components of this role, as pharmacists work daily with colleagues and an interdisciplinary team, including licensed independent practitioners, medical students and residents, nurses, social workers, and care coordinators.

Adult Acute Care – 2nd Shift
Cardiology/Internal Medicine – Adults
Critical Care (surgical, neurosurgical, cardiovascular, burn, medicine) – Adults
These positions will provide care for patients in the inpatient setting.

Requirements:
Bachelor of Science degree in Pharmacy or Doctor of Pharmacy degree
Completion of an PGY1 ASHP accredited pharmacy residency or equivalent experience
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Job related experience with and commitment to service excellence
Professional experience working effectively with individuals from a variety of backgrounds and perspectives
Current or eligible for Iowa Pharmacist licensure
Desirable Qualifications:
Completion of an ASHP accredited PGY2 pharmacy residency in applicable specialty area
Board certification in pharmacotherapy or applicable specialty area
BLS and/or ACLS certification
Clinical practice experience in applicable specialty area
