The Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania (HUP) is recruiting for a Cardiology Clinical Pharmacy Specialist. The cardiology service line includes coverage of patients with acute coronary syndromes, heart failure/advanced heart failure, interventional cardiology (transcatheter valve replacements and elective left heart catheterizations), electrophysiology (dofetilide initiation and ablations), as well as Cardiac ICU patients (common populations including but not limited to cardiogenic shock, mechanical circulatory support, and unstable arrhythmias).
The Cardiology Clinical Pharmacy Specialist is responsible for providing effective pharmaceutical care though active participation in daily rounds, collaboration with unit-based pharmacists, providing drug information responses, precepting students and residents, participating in pharmacy and health-system committees, development of cardiology guidelines, contributions towards quality improvement initiatives, and participation in research.
