The PGY2 Infectious Diseases Pharmacy residency program at Baystate Medical Center offers a high-quality learning experience that builds upon your PGY-1 pharmacy practice skills.
In our residency, you will develop:
expert knowledge in the specialized areas of antimicrobial stewardship pharmacy practice, infectious diseases, and academia.

Our graduates can expect to be prepared for positions such as, pharmacists specializing in infectious disease pharmacotherapy or antimicrobial stewardship program management, faculty members at a college/school of pharmacy, research fellows, medical science liaisons, or pharmacy clinical coordinators.
Our PGY2 Infectious Diseases Pharmacy Residency consists of 11 rotation training blocks concentrating on many aspects of infectious disease pharmacy practice.
Your training focuses on developing the ability to deal with a range of diseases and syndromes that occur in the infected patient—with special emphasis on the complexities of developing and managing a sustainable health-system antimicrobial stewardship program.
Additionally, the program introduces the intricacies of maintaining a faculty practice site and didactic pharmacy student education.
And, it's flexibility means the program can be customized to accommodate your knowledge, skills, attitudes, abilities, interests, and career goals.
Eligibility for licensure in Massachusetts
PharmD degree or equivalent experience
Completion of ASHP-accredited PGY1 Pharmacy Residency
Completed application package submitted by the deadline
Baystate Medical Center (BMC), in Springfield, Massachusetts, is an academic, research, and teaching hospital that serves as a training site of University of Massachusetts Medical School-Baystate. BMC is a 716-bed facility with 57 bassinets. It is the region's only Level 1 trauma center and pediatric trauma center. Baystate Medical Center is the flagship hospital of Baystate Health which is a four hospital health care system. The Baystate Health pharmacy residency programs are affiliated with MCPHS University- Worcester Campus and Western New England University. Our collective residency programs include PGY1 Pharmacy, PGY1 Community-Based Pharmacy, PGY1/2 HSPAL, PGY2 Ambulatory Care Pharmacy, PGY2 Critical Care Pharmacy, PGY2 Emergency Medicine Pharmacy and PGY2 Infectious Diseases Pharmacy.
