Job Summary and Responsibilities

Position Summary:

Under direct supervision the incumbent provides drug information and assists physician in providing appropriate drug therapy for pediatric, adult, and geriatric patients. The incumbent compounds, prepares, mixes, and dispenses medicines and preparations. Incumbent also oversees medications prepared by Pharmacy Technicians. This position reports to the Director Pharmacy.

The 267-bed hospital offers major medical services including a Level II Trauma Center as well as specialized Cardiovascular Care, Stroke Care, Orthopedics, Neurological Surgery, Comprehensive Cancer Care, Maternity Care, and da Vinci Robotic Surgery. It is the sole provider of obstetrical services, along with the only Level III Neonatal Intensive Care Unit in Shasta County. • Knowledge of unit dose systems, IV admixture, chemotherapy, clinical pharmacology, pharmacokinetics, and drug use evaluation required
• Graduate of an ACPE-accredited school of pharmacy with a PharmD degree
• Must have current registration as pharmacist in the State of California prior to start date.
• Current ACLS and BLS certifications required (must be certified through the American Heart Association)
