Nationwide Children's Hospital is a 696 bed pediatric health-system located in central Ohio. We provide services to nearly 2 million patients per year. We rank in the top 10 of all Children's hospitals ranking top 5 with both patient volumes and physical space. Our team focuses on getting results, being agile and innovative, and achieving best outcomes for our patients. The team member will join an experienced team consisting of a dedicated Pharmacy IS manager, 7 dedicated IS pharmacists, 2 IS technicians, a systems analyst, and 2 data analysts. The team influences and impacts nearly every aspect of Pharmacy services and contributes to departmental and organizational large-scale projects. The IS pharmacists are involved in developing and managing information systems, including Epic and our suite of inventory and operational technologies, to meet patient care, teaching, and research responsibilities and needs of the Department of Pharmacy.
Monitors the performance of the Electronic Health Record (EHR), ensuring it provides accurate information, and interfaces with clinicians to enhance the clinical functionality of the computer system.
Coordinates system software upgrades and/or updates to both our EHR and department hardware.
Works across other IS service lines for both department and system-wide pharmacy-related projects.
Provides staff education and designs the user training manuals and orientation materials for pharmacy-related information systems.
Troubleshoots computer problems and shares on-call support for pharmacy-related needs.
Develops and maintains pharmacy-related documentation and backup systems across the enterprise.
