The fellow will receive a competitive stipend and benefits package, including comprehensive health and dental insurance. Attendance at one or more professional meetings, conferences or workshops will be sponsored by the fellowship.
The Takeda - Purdue U.S. Medical and Scientific Communications Fellowship is a one-year program designed to provide PharmDs with the opportunity to gain specialized hands-on pharmaceutical industry training and experience across departments within US Medical and Scientific Communications. The US Medical organization at Takeda is composed of several closely integrated functional teams, with roles and responsibilities that are distinct yet interdependent. The fellow will collaborate with and receive individual mentorship from various functions including Medical Information, Medical Review, and Publications during this one-year timeframe.
The purpose of this fellowship program is to develop and train a fellow to take up the challenges of executing in various functions across Medical Affairs, namely within Scientific Communications. The program will serve to maintain and enhance a scientific link between Takeda and Purdue University scientists, and it will aid not only the medical strategy at Takeda, but eventually serve to advance science and education throughout the industry. Graduates of the program will have the ability to serve in important roles in the pharmaceutical industry and/or in an academic setting. The fellow will be based at the Takeda site located in Lexington, MA with frequent interactions with Purdue University.
To be eligible, candidates must be graduates of an Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE) accredited Doctor of Pharmacy Program before the fellowship begins in July.
The fellow will be required to obtain a license to practice pharmacy in any state (Purdue University requirement) by December 31, 2023.
