University of Pittsburgh Medical Center (UPMC) and the University of Pittsburgh School of Pharmacy offer six acute care-based PGY2 specialty residency programs. Through each of these programs, the resident will develop skills to design and deliver direct patient care and specialized pharmacy services as part of a collaborative practice environment; develop teaching and assessment skills; and develop research skills through the design, implementation, assessment, and publication of a practice-based research project. Each respective program prepares residents to become fully integrated members of the interdisciplinary team, to make complex pharmacotherapy decisions, and to serve as a clinical content expert, educator, and researcher.
