The internal Medicine residency is a one-year ASHP-accredited specialty residency aimed to provide specialized training necessary to develop knowledge and professional practice skills essential to serve as a pharmacotherapy specialist.  Residents have opportunities for development of teaching and research skills at the UK College of Pharmacy. Rotations offered include internal medicine (7 months), cardiology (1 month), adult pulmonary/MICU (1 month), and infectious diseases (1 month). The opportunities for internal medicine experience include academic teaching teams, hospitalist non-rounding teams, and hospitalist rounding teams via the unique BOOST initiative.
