Belmont University is seeking 1 pharmacy fellow to complete a two year post-graduate program in collaboration with HealthTrust Performance Group (HealthTrust). The goal of this program is to equip the fellow with the skills required to excel in various practice settings such as academia, drug information, medical affairs, formulary management, and corporate pharmacy.
Duties include but are not limited to the following:
Responsible for participating in a practice within HealthTrust that involves providing clinical evaluation and drug information services by assisting with the maintenance and development of clinical content resources for publications, formulary management, educational and informational services to HealthTrust members and personnel.
Assist in the creation of drug monographs, class reviews, or any clinical education document to support HealthTrust clinical initiatives
Answer drug information questions for HealthTrust members
Teach within School of Pharmacy (i.e. assist in precepting APPE students and teach in didactic courses).
Perform all faculty functions related to the management of the Christy Houston Foundation Drug Information Center including: responding to drug information requests, and resource management.
Participate in a teaching certificate program (if eligible).
Conduct an original research project.
Precept students at Belmont University and HealthTrust.
Other projects as assigned by the HealthTrust Clinical Director
Abide by all relevant university and/or departmental procedures and policies.

Physical Requirements and Working Conditions
Stand and remain on feet for extended periods of time
Operate various business instruments, including computers, printers/scanners/fax machines, requiring manual dexterity

About Belmont University School of Pharmacy and HealthTrust

Headquartered in Nashville, Tennessee, HealthTrust serves over 1,600 hospitals and health systems, and more than 43,000 alternate care sites. The HealthTrust experiences are structured to fully integrate fellows into the daily functions and responsibilities of the Clinical Pharmacy team by engaging with the various department teams and supporting the drug information service. This component of the fellowship program will allow fellows to expand their knowledge of a group purchasing organization, and strengthen their research, writing, presentation and drug information skills.
The Belmont experience provides fellows with the opportunity to manage the day-to-day operations of an academic based drug information center while assisting in core curriculum courses and precepting students. Additionally, the fellows will participate in a teaching certificate program and exit with a completed teaching portfolio.
The HealthTrust experience provides fellows with the opportunity to gain experience at a group purchasing organization with over 1,600 member-hospitals and over 43,000 alternate sites. The Clinical Management Fellow will be integrated into the clinical pharmacy team through engagement with the sourcing department and support of the drug information service. The Regulatory Management Fellow will focus on the development and implementation of various operational and regulatory initiatives at HealthTrust.
The FDA experience provides fellows with the opportunity to refine their drug information skills in a regulatory setting. Fellows respond to drug information inquiries from patients, health care professionals, and regulated industry; create and disseminate content; and assist with a number of high-profile initiatives.
