As a PGY2 Oncology Pharmacy Resident at Monument Health Rapid City Hospital (RCH), you will participate in a comprehensive 12-month program focused on advanced training in oncology, specifically adult oncology patients. The residency offers a unique opportunity to engage in all aspects of oncology and hematology patient management within the Monument Health Cancer Care Institute (CCI) outpatient clinic and the RCH inpatient oncology service. You will be an essential member of the multidisciplinary oncology team, collaborating with oncologists, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to deliver compassionate, evidence-based, and integrated care to cancer patients. Your responsibilities will include ensuring optimal drug therapy outcomes throughout the continuum of care, actively engaging in patient interactions, and gaining valuable experience in coordinating patient care alongside the healthcare team.

The leadership certificate and teaching certificate are elective longitudinal rotations. Residents are assigned a mentor for the year. Teaching certificate participants receive adjunct appointment at the SDSU College of Pharmacy & Allied Health Professions.

Ancillary services provided include Patient Support Team, Nutritional Services, Speech Therapy, Rehabilitation, Home Care, Hospice, Spiritual Care, Psycho-social Interventions, Support Groups and Educational Offerings.
