As a PGY2 Oncology Pharmacy Resident at Monument Health Rapid City Hospital (RCH), you will participate in a comprehensive 12-month program focused on advanced training in oncology, specifically adult oncology patients. The residency offers a unique opportunity to engage in all aspects of oncology and hematology patient management within the Monument Health Cancer Care Institute (CCI) outpatient clinic and the RCH inpatient oncology service. You will be an essential member of the multidisciplinary oncology team, collaborating with oncologists, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to deliver compassionate, evidence-based, and integrated care to cancer patients. Your responsibilities will include ensuring optimal drug therapy outcomes throughout the continuum of care, actively engaging in patient interactions, and gaining valuable experience in coordinating patient care alongside the healthcare team.

The Monument Health Cancer Care Institute is located adjacent to the main hospital. This outpatient clinic serves young adults (age 18 and older) to geriatric-aged hematology and oncology patients, with some special pediatric cases. Chemotherapy is administered to outpatients a...nd inpatients. Our oncology program is a multi-disciplinary program providing professional services in the areas of Medical Oncology and Hematology, Radiation Oncology, Clinical Cancer Research, Pharmacy, Laboratory, Patient and Family Education and Support Services. Ancillary services provided include Patient Support Team, Nutritional Services, Speech Therapy, Rehabilitation, Home Care, Hospice, Spiritual Care, Psycho-social Interventions, Support Groups and Educational Offerings.
