The Infectious Diseases Translational Research Fellowship program at Midwestern University College of Pharmacy-Glendale Campus (MWU-CPG) in Glendale, Arizona is a 24-month post-doctoral program. The program provides training in a variety of infectious disease research areas including both clinical outcomes and laboratory. Specific research includes antimicrobial pharmacokinetics/pharmacodynamics, dose optimization of multidrug-resistant pathogens and prevention of resistance, antimicrobial dose optimization in the critically ill population, and antimicrobial stewardship. The experiences can be tailored to the candidate’s individual goals and interests with the goal of developing a competent individual to become a clinician, academician, or industry. We are looking for motivated and driven candidates who are completing (have completed) a minimum of a PGY1 residency with an interest in infectious diseases.

Program Highlights:

Developing a competent clinical scientist pharmacist in practice, research, grantsmanship, and manuscript publication. The fellow will spend most of their time contributing to longitudinal research projects focused on both clinical outcomes and laboratory. Additionally, the fellow will have opportunities to develop clinical practice competency through direct patient care experiences at the designated site by precepting PGY1 residents and MWU-CPG students and providing didactic lectures, workshop, and continuing educations.

• Doctor of Pharmacy degree from ACPE-accredited College of Pharmacy

• Successful completion of PGY1 residency from an ASHP-accredited program or equivalent experience

• Eligible to be licensed in the State of Arizona
