Opportunities exist for Clinical Pharmacists inHematology, Oncology and Blood & Marrow Transplant/Cellular Therapeutics to join the Cancer Care Team at The University of Kansas Health System Cancer Center (TUKHS-CC).
Our team continues to increase its clinical presence in our NCI-Comprehensive Cancer Center and maintains a high level of rapport with physicians, mid-level providers and interdisciplinary partners on the patient care team.
Clinical Pharmacists provide clinical services ranging from inpatient rounding to outpatient clinic and infusion center support in ambulatory cancer centers. The team also collaborates closely with Investigational Drug Services and the Pharmacy Informatics Beacon Team. Clinical Pharmacists enjoy a diverse practice but most settle into primary clinical areas of focus. Our team also provides a rich environment for professional development opportunities including precepting pharmacy students, PGY1 and PGY2 residents, as well staying involved in professional organizations. Current support provided for inpatient services include: Oncology, Hematology and Blood and Marrow Transplant (BMT) & Cellular Therapeutics. Current support provided for outpatient ambulatory clinics include: Acute leukemia, BMT/Cellular Therapeutics, Breast, Hematology (multiple myeloma/lymphoma), Gastrointestinal (GI), Genitourinary (GU), Gynecology-Oncology, Head/Neck/Lung, and Melanoma.
The pharmacy cancer care team is comprised of over 55 pharmacists with specialized training supporting 6 cancer sites throughout the Kansas City Metropolitan area and >1000-bed hospital in Kansas City. TUKHS-CC is nationally recognized as one of the nation’s best cancer programs and has been ranked for Cancer treatment in U.S. News & Worlds Reports thirteen years. Our investigational pharmacy team manages over 400 clinical trials throughout the health system and is comprised of 9 pharmacists staffing 3 primary investigational drug service locations and servicing 4 satellite locations.

The strategic plan for the next 30 years includes 3 additional towers for future growth.
