Lymphoma Oncology Pharmacy Specialist- rotate between inpatient and ambulatory clinic setting
General Clinical Specialist- ambulatory clinic setting, High Point
Infusion Pharmacists
In addition to direct patient care responsibilities, the specialists precept pharmacy residents and students as faculty in Graduate Pharmacy Education. There are opportunities for didactic teaching at schools of pharmacy. The specialists also participate in oncology-related initiatives, research and projects. Other responsibilities are below:
Foster open & collaborative environment in which team members may discuss opportunities for service expansion, performance improvement, professional development, and other activities as well as topics essential to providing excellent pharmacy services
Participates in the delivery of quality patient care through the active review, assessment and approval of medication orders for patients within their assigned practice area
Actively participates in department and organizational committees and involved in quality improvement and patient safety activities for service area, department and medical center
Works with members of pharmacy leadership team to track and manage pharmaceutical utilization, costs and prescribing trends to identify opportunities for improvement and outcome measures of related initiatives
Prevent, detect, and resolve medication-related problems, and make appropriate evidence-based, patient-centered medication therapy recommendations as part of the interdisciplinary team
Appropriately documents activities, including drug therapy recommendations, interventions, educational activities, cost-savings and cost-avoidance efforts, and performance improvement initiatives in which the employee is involved
In addition to the core responsibilities of the clinical specialist a staffing component will be required in addition to clinical services.
Infusion Pharmacists provide care to the patients in our 8 ambulatory oncology clinics. They review orders and labs for appropriateness, provide support to providers and nurses, and check compounded sterile products.

Graduate Pharmacy Education consists of eleven residency programs, an internship program, and learning experiences for three schools of pharmacy in North Carolina.
