East Carolina University Health Medical Center (formerly Vidant) is a 900+ bed Level-1 Trauma Center, regional referral hospital and is the flagship hospital for ECU Health. We serve as the teaching hospital for the Brody School of Medicine at East Carolina University. ECU Health Medical Center provides acute, intermediate, rehabilitation and outpatient services to more than 1.4 million people in 29 counties.

Pharmacy services are provided in a variety of areas including general internal medicine, post-surgical care, five adult intensive care units, emergency medicine, cardiology, heart failure, infectious diseases, antimicrobial stewardship, rehabilitation, general pediatrics, pediatric and neonatal intensive care, and adult/pediatric hematology/oncology.  The institution has a rich 30 year history of pharmacy residency training, with 6 PGY1s in 2025-2026 and PGY2 programs in Critical Care, Emergency Medicine, and Infectious Diseases.
