The MSK PGY2 Pediatric Oncology Pharmacy Residency training builds on the foundations of pharmacy practice established during Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm.D.) education and the PGY1 pharmacy residency experience. The MSK PGY2 Pediatric Oncology Residency provides the resident with a 12-month learning experience that prepares them to function independently as a clinical pharmacy practitioner in pediatric oncology, to serve as a fully integrated member of a multi-disciplinary team, and to optimize medications used in the provision of cancer care. Residents who successfully complete a PGY2 Pediatric Oncology Pharmacy Residency at MSK Kids will possess competencies that prepare them for future clinical, research or academic positions, leadership roles in oncology, and board certification in oncology pharmacy.
The MSK PGY2 Pediatric Oncology Pharmacy Residency program provides advanced training in clinical therapeutics for children with cancer. The main objectives of the training program at MSK Kids are to help residents:
Establish a firm knowledge base in pediatric cancer conditions, treatment options, antineoplastic pharmacology, and pharmacokinetics
Optimize outcomes in pediatric cancer patients through evidence-based, patient-centered medication therapy as an integral part of an interdisciplinary team
Foster clinical problem-solving skills
Provide an introduction to clinical research

Requirements for consideration in the program include:
Doctor of Pharmacy degree
Completion of an ASHP-accredited PGY1 residency program
Eligibility for pharmacy licensure in New York State
Interested applicants will be required to submit the following through PhORCAS: Curriculum Vitae, Letter of Interest, three (3) Letters of Recommendation and Official Academic Transcripts. Interviews are scheduled on a rolling basis, therefore early submission of applications is encouraged.
All interested candidates that meet eligibility requirements for acceptance into a PGY2 residency per ASHP criteria are offered informational interview at PPS or virtually after ASHP Midyear.
