Position Summary
This position is responsible for providing clinical oversight for, and supervising the daily operations of the Phoenix Children’s Hospital Specialty Pharmacy. The Supervisor oversees the ambulatory care specialty pharmacists, ambulatory care patient advocates, client services representatives, pharmacy technicians and pharmacy clerks while providing support for pharmacists working within the pharmacy and ambulatory specialty pharmacy clinic areas. This role is responsible for the development, coordination, and optimization of pharmacy operations and systems. This includes scheduling, staffing, application of technology and implementation of quality initiatives to enhance patient care and achieve business growth and revenue targets. The Specialty Pharmacy Supervisor reports directly to the Director of Outpatient Pharmacy Services and is professionally accountable to the Chief of Pharmacy Services.
Education
- Bachelor's Degree (B.S.) or Doctoral Degree (Pharm.D.) in Pharmacy. (Required)
- Master's Degree or Advanced Training. (Preferred)
Experience
- Two (2) or more years of operational, clinical and/or administrative pharmacy practice in an outpatient, specialty or retail pharmacy setting or equivalent. (Required)
- Minimum of One (1) year of supervisory experience, advanced practice training or equivalent. (Required)
- Previous specialty pharmacy experience. (Preferred)
- Previous pediatric clinical experience or equivalent. (Preferred)
Certifications
- Holds current, unrestricted, pharmacist license issued by the Arizona State Board of Pharmacy. (Required)
- Current Certified Specialty Pharmacist (CSP) credential. (Preferred)
- Current BLS or PALS for HealthCare Providers from American Heart Association. (Preferred)
- Current Board of Pharmacy Immunization Certificate. (Preferred)
Special Skills
- Experience with various types of computer software, including MS Office Suite or equivalent. (Required)
