The Health System Pharmacy Administration and Leadership residency at Vanderbilt University Medical Center is seeking applicants for the 2024-2026 residency class. Our program is a combined PGY1 Pharmacy Practice and PGY2 Health System Pharmacy Administration and Leadership residency with a Masters of Management in Health Care from the Vanderbilt University Owen Graduate School of Management. The program offers comprehensive experience in a variety of pharmacy practice and health system pharmacy administration areas.
Program leaders will be available during the ASHP Midyear 2023 PPS hours to provide additional information as well as have scheduled time to interact with our current residents and program leadership.

The program will offer comprehensive experience in a variety of pharmacy practice and health system pharmacy administration areas. The purpose of this program is to transition the new practitioner through a pharmacy practice PGY1 generalist program followed by a PGY2 specialized practice... that meets the needs of the health system pharmacy practice resident in developing administrative practice skills. Graduates will be equipped to assume leadership positions in various facets of health system pharmacy administrative and leadership practice, including gaining expertise in health system pharmacy operations and using business tools and knowledge to understand and plan for the continual transitions happening in today’s health care system. Other experiences in staff management, making complex financial and organizational decisions, and techniques for functioning in a fast paced environment will be provided. Graduates will gain experience in development of return on investment presentations for new programs, development of analytics capability, and possess the experience to lead practice change in the health system.
