The Assistant Director of Pharmacy at Baptist Hospitals of Southeast Texas will work closely with the Administrative Director of Pharmacy to oversee the daily operations of the pharmacy department. The role involves ensuring safe, efficient, and cost-effective medication management practices, fostering a culture of innovation, and adhering to regulatory compliance. The Assistant Director will also support the hospital’s academic mission by mentoring pharmacy residents and students, promoting professional development, and collaborating with interdisciplinary teams to enhance pharmacy services.
Key Responsibilities include: Oversee daily pharmacy operations, including inpatient, outpatient, and decentralized pharmacy services. Ensure appropriate staffing levels, operational efficiency, and compliance with all hospital and regulatory policies, Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations (e.g., TSBP, CIHQ). Participate in audits and quality assurance initiatives to maintain high standards in medication safety and pharmacy operations and assist in the development and management of the pharmacy’s operational budget. Monitor drug expenditures, identify cost-saving initiatives, and collaborate with procurement to optimize inventory management, particularly during drug shortages.
Graduate of accredited College of Pharmacy and licensed by Texas State Board of Pharmacy, Health System Pharmacy Administration PGY1/2 residency preferred or PGY1/MHA/MBA and 5 – 10 years of hospital management/leadership experience required.
