PGY1/2 HSPAL Resident (traditional two year combined program)
This program encompasses a two year experience that combines clinical rotations of a traditional PGY1 residency with rotational and longitudinal management experiences during the PGY2 year. The program is dedicated to preparing future pharmacy leaders, administrators and managers by promoting individualized experiences, competence, confidence, leadership and professional skills. Core learning experiences include finance, supply chain management, medication safety, accreditation services, operational excellence, clinical leadership, ambulatory leadership, and rural and academic medical centers. Additional longitudinal experiences include, but are not limited to, academia, formulary management, human resource management, and a project. Elective options include oncology leadership, investigational drug services, informatics, and specialty/community pharmacy.
Baystate Medical Center (BMC), in Springfield, Massachusetts, is an academic, research, and teaching hospital that serves as a training site of University of Massachusetts Medical School-Baystate. BMC is a 716-bed facility with 57 bassinets. It is the region's only Level 1 trauma center and pediatric trauma center. Baystate Medical Center is the flagship hospital in Baystate Health which is a four hospital health care system. The Baystate Health pharmacy residency programs are affiliated with MCPHS University- Worcester Campus and Western New England University.
We will be recruiting for residents in PGY2 Ambulatory Care Pharmacy, PGY2 Critical Care Pharmacy, PGY2 Emergency Medicine Pharmacy and PGY2 Infectious Diseases Pharmacy.
