Children's Health Specialty pharmacy is a dual-accredited specialty pharmacy program servicing the North Texas pediatric patient population. The Specialty Pharmacy Manager is responsible for coordination of resources and providing ongoing updates, problem analysis and solution recommendations to the Pharmacy. The position is responsible for responding to and resolving customer service issues brought forth by other departments as they relate to Specialty Pharmacy Services. Ensures the Pharmacy is in a continuous state of readiness for inspections by external groups.
Responsibilities
*Establish and maintain key processes, analyze, recommend and implement changes that improve efficiencies, quality and service.
*Stay abreast of operational and regulatory changes.
*Develop and monitor annual budgets including operating capital and special needs as well as review and monitor variances to maintain fiscal responsibility of the departments.
*Oversee the purchase of drugs and supplies and ensure that appropriate records and documentation are maintained according to established standards/procedures.
* Work in capacity of Clinical Pharmacist as needed
* Responsible for implementing new programs, and ensure that department and hospital policies and procedures are followed.
*Participate in on-call responsibilities
* Participate in development, implementation and ongoing review of computer system orders, care plan and label templates
* Perform other duties and special projects as required.
* Oversee clinical pharmacy services for a specific area, provide guidance and direct clinical staff regarding protocols, decision making and advising in delivering patient care.
WORK EXPERIENCE
Required: Minimum of 3 years related managerial experience, (1 year of Residency is equivalent to 3 years of experience)
Preferred: Minimum 1 year experience in financial analysis and budgeting
Licensure and Certifications: Current Texas licensure and registration as a Pharmacist Req (must receive licensure within 90 days
Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers as required by CP 1.20 Life Support Course Requirements 90 Days Req
