The Oncology Infusion pharmacists provide pharmacy services as part of the multidisciplinary team to deliver safe, appropriate, effective, and quality patient-centered care to patients who present to the oncology service line. The Oncology Infusion pharmacist provides a wide variety of services including process/verify adult chemotherapy treatment and supportive care orders, review patient medication therapies, serve as a drug information resource for providers, nurses, fellow pharmacists, and other healthcare providers, interview and counsel patient and/or families regarding safe and effective medication use, detect and document adverse drug reactions, clinical interventions and medication errors, and apply appropriate pharmacokinetic and pharmacodynamics principles to provide optional drug therapy recommendations to name a few. The Oncology Infusion pharmacist will also engage with student and resident learners, staff both acute care and ambulatory service areas, and assist with quality improvement projects and research.
As a member of the Oncology Infusion clinical pharmacy team this individual will be responsible for the provision of comprehensive clinical pharmacy services for the oncology pharmacy space and all associated areas (e.g. Outpatient & Inpatient Oncology, Medical Oncology, Gynecological Oncology, & Ambulatory Infusion) including pharmacokinetic and therapeutic consultation.
2) Outpatient Ambulatory Care Position
Job Summary
This pharmacist position is responsible for patient care activities including clinical pharmacy services to patients receiving ambulatory care services at CoxHealth. The practice location will be focused on outpatient care areas. Additional responsibilities and teaching experiences will vary based on the position outline below as well as involvement in special projects. The individual must display maturity, independence, initiative, and strong communication skills. In addition, individuals will exemplify the CoxHealth mission, vision, and values and act in accordance with CoxHealth policies and procedures.
3) Infectious Disease Position
Job Summary
The Infectious Disease pharmacist is responsible for leading and managing both clinical and operational pharmacy services across the CoxHealth enterprise related to antimicrobial stewardship in an effort to optimize the use of antimicrobial agents. This role involves collaboration with medical staff, infection preventionists, and microbiologists to ensure use of evidence-based practices, to minimize resistance, and to improve patient outcomes. Key responsibilities include:? leading the development and implementation of antimicrobial stewardship initiatives across the organization, providing clinical guidance to healthcare providers on the selection and management of antimicrobial therapies, analyzing and reporting antimicrobial utilization and resistance patterns, and developing policies and protocols that align with institutional goals and regulatory guidelines.
4) Emergency Medicine Position
Job Summary
Emergency Medicine pharmacists are responsible for providing safe, effective, and quality patient-centered care to patients who present to the ED. The EM Pharmacist provides a wide variety of services including process/verify adult and pediatric medications orders, monitor patient medication therapies, provide drug information, attend all adult and pediatric emergent activations (Trauma, Stroke, STEMI, Code blue, RSI, Procedural Sedations), participate in bedside compounding, and assist with toxicology management to name a few. The EM pharmacist will also participate in student and resident teaching, serve as a committee member, and assist with quality improvement projects and research.
As a member of the Emergency Medicine Clinical Pharmacy team this individual will be responsible for the provision of comprehensive clinical pharmacy services for the ED and all associated areas (eg. Pediatrics, Trauma, Urgent Care) including pharmacokinetic and therapeutic consultation.
5) Critical Care Position
Job Summary
Critical Care pharmacists are responsible for providing safe, effective, and quality patient-centered care to patients who present to any of the four ICUs at Cox South. The pharmacists rotate through the four units facilitating the care of neuro, trauma, medical, and cardiothoracic surgery patients. Critical Care pharmacists provides a wide variety of services including process/verify adult medications orders, monitor patient medication therapies, provide drug information, attend all inpatient adult code blue alerts, participate in bedside compounding, and assist with insulin management per protocol to name a few. The Critical Care pharmacists also participate in student and resident teaching, serve as a committee member, and assist with quality improvement projects and research.
As a member of the Critical Care Clinical Pharmacy team this individual will be responsible for the provision of comprehensive clinical pharmacy services for the ICUs including pharmacokinetic and therapeutic consultation.
