Memorial Cancer Institute (MCI) is a dedicated cancer center whose mission is to provide safe and effective hematology and oncology services to the community, including: chemotherapy, radiation, bone marrow transplantation, genetics, pain and palliative care, and integrative medicine. In 2017, MCI launched a transformative partnership for malignant hematology and cellular therapy with Moffitt Cancer Center, an NCI-designated comprehensive cancer center and NCCN member institution.
The purpose of the postgraduate year two (PGY2) oncology residency is to increase the pharmacy resident’s depth of knowledge, skills, and abilities in all areas of oncology patient care. The pharmacy resident will have advanced training in the fields of inpatient and outpatient hematology, oncology, blood and bone marrow transplantation, symptom management, palliative care, and clinical research. Overall, the resident will learn to provide clinical and economic outcome analysis for the pharmacologic management of cancer patients as a member of a multidisciplinary patient care team.
