EN-Nightshift Pharmacist in the Emergency Department
Schedule is 7 on 7 off but paid for 80 hours, will work every other weekend, hours are 9pm-7:30am (10hrs)
Will share an office with other emergency department pharmacists
Will be a part of a larger night shift pharmacy team that supports the hospital
Primary responsibilities include providing drug information support for providers and nurses, attendance at code/traumas that take place in the ED, order verification, discharge prescription review, co-signature of medication reconciliation notes completed by interns and the completion of targeting medication reconciliation and discharge counseling. This position also completes any TDM needed overnight for admitted patients.
Precepting of students and residents is expected and opportunities exist to get involved with research and quality improvement. If desired, involvement in the code and trauma pharmacy program is available. Credentialing and privileging is available to participate in targeted programs such as insulin management. Support provided to maintain ACLS/PALS training.
Residency training or 3 years’ experience in the ED is required
EC-Evening Clinical pharmacist for admitted patients
Schedule is 8 on 6 off, will work every other weekend, hours are 2pm-12:30am (10 hrs). First day of rotation may be used as a project day or to provide dayshift clinical cross-coverage.
Will share an office with other clinical pharmacists
Primary responsibilities include providing drug information support for providers and nurses, completing TDM scheduled in the evening hours, completion of clinical scoring tasks throughout the shift which includes high risk/acuity patient review and renal dosing assessments, and co-signature of medication reconciliation notes completed by pharmacy technicians.
Precepting of students and residents is expected and opportunities exist to get involved with research and quality improvement. If time allows, this position may be involved in code/trauma response in the ED or supporting our operations (remote order verification assistance). This role may also be involved with discharge counseling. Credentialing and privileging is available to facilitate ordering of medications.
Residency training or 3 years’ experience in hospital pharmacy with strong exposure to TDM is required
