OU Health in Oklahoma City (University of Oklahoma Medical Center and Oklahoma Children’s Hospital) seeks to fill five (6) Clinical Pharmacy Specialist positions. One (1) Hematology/Oncology Inpatient Specialist, two (2) Emergency Medicine Specialists overnight, one (1) Critical Care Clinical Specialist, one (1) Pediatric Emergency Medicine Specialist and one (1) Pediatric Intensive Care Unit.
General Description: Under the general direction of the Pharmacy Manager, responsible for providing all levels of pharmacy services for assigned areas incorporating responsibility for both the clinical and distributive activities. This includes but is not limited to monitoring patient medication regimens and providing appropriate interventions.
Essential Responsibilities:

Coordinates, develops and implements day-to-day activities for specialized pharmacy areas.
Conducts pharmacy in-services for pharmacy staff, physicians and nursing staff.
Participates as a preceptor for pharmacy students on clinical rotations from the various programs.
Coordinates and develops drug protocols and drug monographs for Pharmacy and Therapeutics Committee.
Performs the necessary quality assurance audits for these protocols.
Develops policy and procedures for the pharmacy area.
Assists with Controlled Dangerous Substance audit trail review, adverse drug reaction reporting and drug utilization review.
Services as a staff pharmacist when necessary.

Minimum Qualifications:
Education*: Graduate of an accredited pharmacy degree program (Bachelor of Science or Pharm.D.). Completion of hospital PGY2 (Post Graduate Second Year) pharmacy residency or fellowship in specific area as required by assignment.
Experience*: One (1) year experienced as a clinical Pharmacist in an acute care hospital setting. Additional experience may be required based on specific assignment.
License(s)/Certification(s)/Registration(s) Required: Licensed as a Doctor of Pharmacy (D.Ph.) by the Oklahoma State Board of Pharmacy. Certificate as a preceptor by the Oklahoma Board of Pharmacy when eligible. Specialty BCPS (Board Certified Pharmacotherapy Specialist) certification preferred.
