Our Program:

The PGY-2 Emergency Medicine Pharmacy Residency at OH ORMC is a one-year post-graduate training program designed to develop essential knowledge and skills for contemporary emergency medicine practice and mass casualty response. Required rotations include Emergency Medicine (4 months), Pediatric Emergency Medicine (1 month), Community Emergency Medicine (1 month), Trauma/General Surgery (1 month), Critical Care Medicine (1 months), and project development. There are opportunities for two elective experiences, which can be tailored to the resident's specific interest areas.  Some of the most popular elective rotations include Women’s Health, Toxicology, Neurocritical Care, Surgical Critical Care, and Infectious Diseases.  Additionally, residents will have experiences with healthcare leadership in mass casualty through high fidelity exercises, support for mass casualty response training in Anniston, AL, and HAZmat/DECON training.   The resident will also complete longitudinal activities such as a formal research project, two ACPE-accredited presentations, ED specific quality improvement projects, and have opportunities to precept throughout the year. The resident will staff every fourth weekend in the Emergency Department.  Finally, residents will have the opportunity to be involved with pre-hospital EMS/AirCare through ride-alongs and ED administration through various committees. • Completion (or currently in) an ASHP-accredited PGY-1 pharmacy residency program or one in the ASHP accreditation process
• Complete application through PhORCAS
• Curriculum vitae with descriptions of rotations
• 3 letters of recommendation, including at least one from a clinical preceptor
