The PGY2 Ambulatory Care Pharmacy Residency Program at Penn Presbyterian Medical Center builds on Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm.D.) education and PGY1 pharmacy residency training to contribute to the development of clinical pharmacists in ambulatory care. The resident will develop clinical skills in various specialties in areas including: Internal Medicine, Specialty Primary Care (Gender Affirming Care, Substance Use Disorder), Cardiology/Anticoagulation, Endocrinology, Hematology/Oncology, and Infectious Diseases. Elective learning experiences include Gastroenterology, Pulmonary, and Rheumatology and options to repeat select required learning experiences. The resident will develop administration skills through the Administration learning experience and active participation in multiple committees throughout the year. The resident will develop teaching skills through the numerous opportunities in precepting and presenting of didactic lectures to a variety of audiences and research skills through the required longitudinal research project. Residents who successfully complete the PGY2 Ambulatory Care Pharmacy Residency are prepared for advanced patient care, academia, or other specialized positions, along with board certification.
Requirements: Doctor of Pharmacy, completion of an ASHP-accredited PGY1 Residency program or equivalent clinical experience, eligibility for Pennsylvania pharmacy licensure, academic transcripts, curriculum vitae, three completed recommendation forms, and letter of intent
