Program overview:

The Philadelphia College of Pharmacy (PCP) at the Saint Joseph's University offers an ASHP-accredited, one-year PGY2 Pharmacotherapy Residency in conjunction with Cooper University Health Care.  Cooper University Hospital is a non-profit, academic medical center in Camden, NJ, licensed for over 600 beds. Residents also have opportunities for rotations with affiliated institutions in the Philadelphia area.

The residency program further refines skills attained during a PGY1 Pharmacy Practice Residency, specifically in the areas of patient care, research, and academia. The goal of the residency program is to produce a practitioner with the ability to deliver pharmaceutical care to a diverse inpatient and outpatient patient population. Resident activities will include participation as a member of a multidisciplinary team in a variety of inpatient and outpatient settings and completion of a longitudinal research project. The resident will participate in didactic and experiential education of Doctor of Pharmacy students while completing a teaching certificate program (if not already completed during PGY1) and complete a manuscript suitable for submission to a peer-reviewed journal.

• Primary preceptor for APPE student(s) during adult internal medicine III
• Ambulatory care I and II (clinics include internal medicine, HIV, and ambulatory ICU)
