Residents will provide pediatric and adult inpatient care, precept pharmacy students and PGY1 pharmacy residents, and respond to critical resuscitations and codes. In addition, residents will complete an ED conference lecture, a research project, and a medication use evaluation (MUE). A teaching certificate program is also available if not already obtained. Opportunities for leadership and practice management development will be provided through committee involvement (stroke, trauma, code, sepsis, pharmacy and therapeutics committee, pharmacy review committee), formulary addition, and/or guideline policy revision. Interdisciplinary learning opportunities are also available through joint ED conference lectures with our EM medical residents throughout the year. Upon graduation, residents are prepared to take clinical pharmacy specialist and faculty positions related to emergency medicine.
