We have an immediate opening for a Clinical Pharmacy Specialist to join our dynamic team. As an integral member of the patient care team, you will play a vital role in enhancing patient outcomes and advancing our mission. Your responsibilities will include:
Clinical Services: Provide delegated clinical services, participate in multidisciplinary discussions regarding patient care, and ensure the proper application and compliance with research protocols.
Education: Educate patients and families, and engage in professional education activities, including ACPE-accredited presentations, didactic and experiential training with pharmacy students, and mentoring clinical staff pharmacists and pharmacy residents.
Research Collaboration: Collaborate in research protocol development and contribute to various research endeavors.
Professional Development: Engage in ongoing professional education and development activities, including supporting the ASHP-accredited Specialty Residency in Oncology.
Licensure by the Tennessee State Board of Pharmacy
Completion of a clinical pharmacy specialty residency in Oncology or Pediatrics is required. In absence of residency training, at least five (5) years clinical experience at a similar institution may be considered.
Certification or eligibility for certification, by the Board of Pharmaceutical Specialties in a relevant area (e.g., Pediatrics, Oncology, Nutrition Support, Infectious Disease is required.

The department's mission is to provide the highest quality comprehensive clinical pharmaceutical care to children with catastrophic diseases, always working to integrate research findings into clinical care as quickly as possible. The department consists of professional, technical, and support personnel - all focused on providing care across the inpatient/outpatient continuum. The Pharmaceutical Department includes an accredited clinical laboratory responsible for all clinical drug assays and comprehensive centralized and decentralized distributive and clinical pharmacy services, all supported by a fully integrated state-of-the-art electronic medical record, including CPOE. Departmental faculty and clinical staff are essential members of a laboratory-based clinical care and research program focusing on pediatric clinical therapeutics.
