Open an exciting new chapter in your career as a Clinical Pharmacy Specialist supporting our adult hematology/oncology team at UF Health Shands Hospital, a nationally recognized, 1,162-bed academic medical center located in beautiful Gainesville, Florida.
In this full-time role, you’ll have the opportunity to work at North Central Florida’s only NCI-designated cancer center with an extraordinary pharmacy team and gain in-depth experience working with an interdisciplinary hematology/oncology team.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Provision of clinical pharmacy services for the respective patient population
Medication order verification and oncology treatment plan application for designated patients
Interdisciplinary collaboration to optimize drug therapy and prevent adverse medication events
Adverse event and medication error reporting when necessary
Pharmacokinetic monitoring and consultation
Providing drug information and education to medical and nursing staff
Educating and mentoring pharmacy students and pharmacy residents
Providing active participation in related research activities
In addition to above, this position includes eligibility for adjunct faculty appointment at the University of Florida College of Pharmacy. Numerous teaching, research, and professional development opportunities are also available.

Successful candidates should be Florida-registered (or eligible) Pharmacists who have graduated from an ACPE-accredited school of pharmacy with a PharmD and completion of a PGY2 oncology residency or equivalent. Applicants who are board-certified are preferred. We are seeking candidates with strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to integrate clinical services and educational activities. Applicants should demonstrate knowledge and understanding of general hospital and outpatient clinic operations, including interacting with medical, nursing and pharmacy staff, as well as pharmacy residents and medical students.
