The University of Virginia Health is recruiting for full time pharmacists positions in pediatrics. This position supports pediatric pharmacy services for the 120 bed UVA Children's Hospital. The schedule for the position is two weeks of evening coverage supporting UVA Children's and two weeks of dayshift float clinical coverage. Coverage during day shift may include: PICU, NICU, Gen Peds, Heme/Onc (inpatient and/or ambulatory), Battle Infusion (sterile compounding), and operational shifts. This pharmacist will participate in the team weekend rotation (every 4th weekend) and intermittent nightshift backfill (4-8 nights/year after 1 year of service).
Requirements:
Education: Bachelor’s in Pharmacy with experience or Pharm.D. from an ACPE accredited College of Pharmacy. Degree required
Licensure: Commonwealth of Virginia State Board of Pharmacy. License required. American Heart Association (AHA) Health Care Provider. BLS certification required
Experience: PGY-1 residency required or equivalent hospital experience (3 years). PGY-1 Children’s hospital residency or PGY-2 residency in Pediatrics is preferred.

The SOT Pharmacy team lead meets all qualification and expectations of the SOT pharmacists and also serves as the PGY-2 SOT program residency program director (in addition to assistant RPD). The team lead mentors all team members to ensure they are meeting the organizational ASPIRE values, team and personal development goals. This role works closely with pharmacy leadership to ensure best practice is followed consistently in all areas that have pharmacy oversight (includes clinical/protocol guideline development, regulatory review and preparation, etc).

The inpatient oncology pharmacy team at UVA is seeking an individual interested in working in the areas of inpatient malignant hematology, bone marrow transplant, and cellular therapy. The delivery of care by the inpatient pharmacist includes, but is not limited to: designing, implementing, assessing, monitoring, and documenting therapeutic plans utilizing best evidence and most effective and most economical medication treatments; helping to achieve positive patient outcomes through interactions with patients, providers, and interdisciplinary teams. Inpatient pharmacist provide ownership of preparing, releasing and coordinating chemotherapy and other anti-cancer orders for inpatient administration including CAR-T Therapies, other novel, high risk therapies, and supportive care plans. Pharmacist provider patient/caregiver medication education including: weekday meds-to-beds service with hematology/oncology pharmacist discharge counseling and new start chemotherapy and other anti-cancer therapy counseling. Pharmacists participate in provider and nursing education on oncology-specific pharmacology and therapeutics, and can mentor and precept PGY2 oncology pharmacy residents, PGY1 pharmacy residents, and pharmacy students. This pharmacist will participate in the team weekend rotation (up to every 4th weekend), oncology pharmacist on-call, and intermittent nightshift backfill (8-15 nights/year after 1 year of service).
