The innovative Pharmacy Post-Graduate Year 2 Oncology Residency program at the University of Miami Hospital and Clinics is designed to provide intensive training in the care of hematology and oncology patients. The PGY2 Oncology Residency offers the resident a 12-month learning experience that prepares them to function independently as a clinical pharmacy practitioner in oncology, to serve as a fully integrated member of a multi-disciplinary team, and to optimize medications used in the provision of cancer care. The resident will practice with established interdisciplinary teams throughout University of Miami Hospital and Clinics and the Sylvester Comprehensive Cancer Center.

Rotations offered include, but are not limited to: inpatient hematology, inpatient medical oncology, inpatient transplantation and cellular therapy  (autologous/cell therapy and allogeneic services), outpatient hematology, outpatient medical oncology, investigational drug services, infectious diseases in immunocompromised patients, outpatient pediatric oncology, oncology related informatics/hospital administration, and others. Opportunities for training of Pharm.D. students and PGY-1 residents are available through our affiliations with Nova Southeastern University College of Pharmacy and Larkin Health Sciences College of Pharmacy. Longitudinal experiences include, but are not limited to: staffing every 3^rd weekend, medication use evaluation, research/quality improvement project, bi-weekly oncology related group discussions, continuing education accredited grand rounds, journal clubs, and involvement within the hematology/oncology P&T subcommittee.

Interested applicants must be a PharmD graduate of an accredited college of pharmacy, be currently enrolled in a PGY1 residency program, and be eligible for licensure in the State of Florida and submit the standard application materials through PhORCAS. On-site interviews will include a 20-30min presentation.
