The University of the Incarnate Word is seeking applicants for a full time faculty position in the Department of Pharmacy Practice at the Feik School of Pharmacy. This position will provide acute care clinical service at Baptist Medical Center in San Antonio, Texas. Major responsibilities for this position include teaching in the didactic and experiential curriculum, providing a clinical pharmacy service to patients in the acute care unit, precepting pharmacy students/resident rotations, presentations, and research projects, service to the University, and scholarly activities. Official duties and responsibilities of faculty members at the University include teaching, scholarship, service, and professional activities. In all matters, faculty are expected to maintain the highest standards of professional ethics. Other duties as assigned.
The applicant should have considerable experience in the management of conditions in the acute care setting and have the ability to work with students, patients, multidisciplinary providers, and pharmacy staff to optimize patient care. Must possess the ability to work effectively with individuals from diverse communities and cultures. Employees shall adhere to all rules and regulations of the University, the Conference, the NCAA, and the practice site.
Applicants should possess a Doctor of Pharmacy degree with 2 years of postgraduate residency training in internal medicine, pharmacotherapy, or equivalent experience. The ideal candidate will have experience as a faculty member in a school of pharmacy and clinical experience in acute care. Board certification in pharmacotherapy is preferred.
Applicants must be a licensed pharmacist and eligible for licensure in the state of Texas. Applicants will be expected to become a certified preceptor with the Texas State Board of Pharmacy. Applicants must obtain and maintain credentialing with the practice site.
