Employer will assist with relocation costs.
We have been retained by a progressive Washington DC area Health System to manage their search for an Administrative Pharmacy Leader! This position is based at a System affiliated 200 bed Hospital. Reporting to the VP of Pharmacy, you will manage approximately 40 FTE's. Monday-Friday, Day Shift position. As the Pharmacist in Charge (PIC), you will manage all clinical, operational and administrative functions for the Pharmacy program. Additional responsibilities will consist of schedule development, completing annual staff evaluations and participating in hiring decisions. Serving as a preceptor for the pharmacy clerkship and other educational activities is expected.
 
Core Responsibilities
  • Participates in patient care/medical rounds as well as medical section and/or department meetings.
  • Serves on committees and ensures patient safety through the review of processes in assigned areas.
  • Supervises/instructs Pharmacists, performs competence assessments and identifies staff education needs.
  • Prepares and presents drug reviews, MUE criteria, antibiotic sensitivity reports, adverse drug reaction reports and pharmacy interventions summaries to P&T.
  • Facilitates the implementation of treatment guidelines, protocols, formulary changes and critical pathways as approved by appropriate committees.
  • Provides accurate and timely drug information to the professional staff and contributes to newsletters for physicians and other health professionals.

Pharm.D. and 5 years of Pharmacy Leadership experience. MBA and/or Administrative Residency is highly desirable.
