The Clinical Pharmacy Specialist (CPS) at Moffitt Cancer Center plays a critical role in the goal of contributing to the prevention and cure of cancer. The CPS practices at the top of their license and utilizes a high level of expertise to recommend, design, implement, monitor, and modify pharmaceutical care plans to optimize patient outcomes. The CPS will have extensive clinical experience within Malignant Hematology as well as pharmacy practice experience including medication safety, formulary management, pathway/guideline development, policy development/implementation, oncology reimbursement and coverage, and clinical research.

Responsibilities
Ensure safe, effective medication use by overseeing prescribing, dispensing, administration, and monitoring processes for oncology patients across the continuum of care.
Deliver high-level clinical pharmacy services, including individualized treatment planning, medication order review and verification, and proactive therapy optimization in collaboration with the interdisciplinary team.
Serve as a medication expert, providing drug information, education, and guidance to pharmacists, providers, nurses, patients, and caregivers.
Lead initiatives to improve medication-use practices, including development of clinical guidelines, policy implementation, workflow optimization, and cost-effective medication utilization.
Inpatient Rotations: Participate in daily multidisciplinary rounds on one of four malignant hematology services, supporting patients enrolled in clinical trials and treated with novel agents such as bispecific antibodies.
Outpatient Rotations: Provide longitudinal support to one of the malignant hematology clinics (lymphoid, myeloma, or myeloid) on a rotational basis, ensuring continuity of care and alignment with evolving treatment strategies.

Credentials and Qualifications:
Minimum of bachelor's degree in pharmacy required.
Licensed as a Pharmacist in the state of Florida.
Completion of PGY-2 Residency in area of specialization, or PGY-1 residency with a minimum of 2 years clinical practice experience in specialty area, or 4 years of clinical practice experience in specialty area
Moffitt Cancer Center (MCC) is a non profit National Cancer Institute Designated Comprehensive Cancer Center located in Tampa, Florida. HLMCC was established in 1986 and sees approximately 25,000 new patients annually, resulting in 290,000 clinic visits and an average daily inpatient census of 240. As an oncology health care facility, MCC has achieved exemplary reviews by all regulatory agencies, including the Joint Commission of American Hospital Organizations (JCAHO), the Florida Department of Pharmacy Regulation (DPR), American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) Magnet designation, and the Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA).
