Michigan Medicine/University of Michigan Health seeks a dynamic, distinguished executive to serve as its next Associate Chief Pharmacy Officer - Ambulatory. Leading an organization of roughly 550 employees, this role is designed for an operationally savvy leader who can scale ambulatory pharmacy and promote innovation across a statewide health system that includes an AMC, community hospitals, outpatient clinics and more.
The Opportunity
This is a high-impact executive leadership opportunity overseeing a portfolio generating more than $1.1 billion in revenue and $400 million in margin. As a key architect of growth and payer strategy, the ACPO holds full P&L responsibility for a rapidly expanding enterprise, including the state-of-the-art 140,000 sq. ft. Joy Road Service Center. The ACPO will also serve as adjunct/faculty at the University of Michigan College of Pharmacy. This is a key enterprise executive role within the Pharmacy Enterprise, supporting the Chief Pharmacy Officer in the development and oversight of complex and growing ambulatory pharmacy services that also include Specialty, Community, Infusion, Oncology Infusion, HomeMed, and Retail.
The Ideal Candidate
The successful candidate will be a visionary leader and will serve as a visible ambassador to internal and external stakeholders within the ambulatory and specialty areas. The ACPO will partner with the CPO and other key stakeholders to determine ambulatory pharmacy objectives, direct programs, and manage the resources necessary to meet enterprise objectives. The ideal candidate will be a forward-thinking, collaborative pharmacy leader with a strong commitment to clinical excellence and education. Qualifications include a PharmD, residency or similar experience, eligibility for Michigan licensure, and an advanced business degree (or willingness to pursue one).
